“Taco Bout A Baby” Shower
Updated: Mar 11, 2021
Who doesn’t love a baby shower? Chances are, you’ve thrown or attended a baby shower at least once in your life. Maybe the shower was for you, a friend, or even a co-worker. One day, it might be for a daughter having your first grand baby. Whatever the circumstance is for you, I’ve got a great idea for a themed baby shower for you featuring our
“TACO BOUT A BABY!” handcrafted chipboard banner.

Theme.
The first thing you need to decide on is a theme. You can springboard a theme from just about anything. Last year, my in-laws and I arranged a surprise baby shower for my sister-in-law who was having her first baby. We based the theme on having a taco bar. That led to the creation of this fun, taco themed baby shower banner.
When you’re throwing a baby shower, it's a good idea to focus your planning around three main parts: food, decor, and games. Since the taco bar inspired this theme, I’ll start with the food.
Food.
Start by making a list of ingredients for a taco bar. Our list included corn tortillas, pork carnitas, pinto beans, shredded cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, green onions, green chilies, salsa, guacamole, and sour cream. Don’t forget to add to that list plates, utensils, and napkins as well as water bottles for an easy beverage. If the guest list is close friends and family, you can spread out the fiscal responsibility by creating a digital sign up form for the different items through a free online software like SignUpGenius.
Decor.
When it comes to party decor, don’t underestimate the power of a dollar store. Most have an array of Mylar balloons and party basics such as streamers, balloons, confetti, tableware, party favor supplies, and more! It’s an easy way to add to and complement any banner from the shop. We got some cute Mylar cactus balloons from the Dollar Tree and adorable avocado and cactus piñatas from Hobby Lobby. Bonus: the piñatas doubled as a game for the kiddos in attendance.
Games.
One of the most important things you should be doing as a host is to encourage guests to mingle. There are lots of ideas out there for easy games that promote this like “Don’t Say Baby” and “What am I?” from Pampers list of 40 Fun Baby Shower Games.
Super easy, right? Maybe you’re not keen on tacos (unlikely), or you simply have another theme in mind for your next baby shower. In that case, you can use our custom order form, and we will work with you to create the perfect banner for your next party!
